Hagerman Fossil Beds Dog Policy
Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is Not Dog Friendly
Hagerman Fossil Beds holds fossils of mastodons, saber-tooth cats, ground sloths, beavers, horses, and more. The fossils are mostly from the Pliocene Epoch, when this was a wetland area. The visitor center has exhibits of fossils, and has some hiking trails, though visitors cannot see actual fossils in the ground. The only visible fossils are in exhibits at the visitor center.
Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is not very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed along roads and paved parking lots while on a leash, but they're not allowed on trails, and they're not allowed inside the visitor center, which is really the main attraction here.
